New review and a teaser!

Hi everyone!

I wanted to share an awesome review I just received for BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS by Becky at Stories & Sweeties. Here’s a bit of what she had to say about Ethan and Nara’s story!

5 Cupcakes! “A funny little thing happened with this book that rarely happens to me: I bought this after seeing a good review of it on another blog (typical me, can’t remember where exactly) and was furthermore drawn in by that breathtaking cover. Downloaded it, opened it up quickly to read the first few pages, you know, just to get a taste of the story and the voice. Well, after those first pages, I couldn’t put it down. It went with me everywhere, got opened up in grocery store lines, at the pharmacy, even snuck in a few pages on the desk at work (shhhhh!). I was engulfed in Inara’s story from start to finish…” CLICK HERE to read Becky’s in-depth review of BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS!

Also, Kristen over at Seeing Night Reviews has put up at teaser from BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS for her Teaser Tuesday post. Check it out!

Life imitating Art, er…well, in reverse

As a reader, I often wonder if parts of a book were culled from that author’s personal life, so I thought I’d share a fun factual tidbit from BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS. The vast majority of what I write is completely made up, but every once in a blue moon, a sliver of something might make it into a story. It will usually be morphed and twisted from the original experience, but remnants still remain. 🙂

There’s a scene in BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS where Nara’s best friend Lainey pierces her ears. I didn’t have a grand aunt present during this experience (can you imagine an adult being involved? They’d say, “You’re going to the mall, STAT” LOL!), but YES, my best friend did pierce my ears just like this. *

* For the record, it’s easier and much faster to go to the mall. *g*

Brightest Kind of Darkness on SALE for $.99!

BRIGHTEST KIND OF DARKNESS is on SALE for $.99 for a limited time! Now’s your chance to grab it! 🙂

Brightest Kind of Darkness is a dark paranormal YA  full of mystery, adventure, romance, and even a touch of horror.

Nara Collins is an average sixteen-year-old, with one exception: every night she dreams the events of the following day. Due to an incident in her past, Nara avoids using her special gift to change fate…until she dreams a future she can’t ignore.

After Nara prevents a bombing at Blue Ridge High, her ability to see the future starts to fade, while people at school are suddenly being injured at an unusually high rate.

Grappling with her diminishing powers and the need to prevent another disaster, Nara meets Ethan Harris, a mysterious loner who seems to understand her better than anyone. Ethan and Nara forge an irresistible connection, but as their relationship heats up, so do her questions about his dark past.

What people are saying…

TOP PICK!
“…I absolutely loved this YA story. The characters were extremely believable and I felt like Nara was a friend of mine telling me her story as I turned the pages. I loved the whole mysteriously dark side theme that ran through the storyline and I found myself riveted to my seat anxiously waiting to see what would happen next. ” ~ Night Owl Reviews

4 1/2 Stars “…the connection that was formed between Nara and Ethan was so strong I felt it deep down as I was reading. Michelle really knows how to put emotion into her characters…” ~ Tracy’s Place

5 Stars! Oh man oh man, I LURVED Ethan with a passion!  *fans self* Loner guy, muscle-y, tattooed, tortured, and utterly devoted to Nara. He’s definitely one of my favorite YA heroes at the moment!…

…Ethan was incredible while not falling into that “perfect guy” trap that so many romance heroes fall into. He’s tortured, has a bad temper, is hesitant to open up to Nara, and also has a tendency to be a bit high-handed.  However, he’s also completely devoted to Nara and her safety without being all creepy-stalkerish which is refreshing, and there’s also just enough mystery left about him that I’m dying to read the next one if it will hurry up and be released! ~ Jess, The Romanceaholic Blog

5 Stars! “… This book ranks in the top 10 of one of my favorite YA reads this summer, and I am excited for the next book. Truly entertaining and romantic!” ~ Mandy, Twimom101 Book Blog
